Dinghies now with sandwich deck interior fittings

In the current version, all rowing dinghies are now equipped with a sandwich deck interior and removable modern 2-strut aluminum outriggers. These make the boat lighter and more stable. The outriggers are easy to remove, making the boat easier to transport than with the old drop-in unit, which was permanently installed. The new technology also makes the boat significantly lighter.

Nowadays, rowing boats are normally equipped with 2-strut outriggers. In contrast, racing boats have wing riggers. Of course, gig boats can also be fitted with wing riggers. Many manufacturers save on frames, but this can lead to problems with the long-term stability of the gig boats. At Baumgarten Bootsbau, we have therefore opted for the compromise of leaving out only every second frame.

Carbon Gig Racer now with bow wing

Fun Trainer + C-single are too wide and not fast enough, but you don’t want a skiff either. Then the GigRacer is the alternative. With a width of 47 cm, it is almost as narrow as a skiff, but with a continuous outer keel it is much more stable and robust, even when moored on the beach. Rowing boat with sleeping cabin

A Wherry with a sleeping cabin in the stern was built for a Swiss customer. The boat can be rowed as a two-person boat without a helmsman (with a foot steering system). Alternatively, only one rower rows and the second rower sleeps in the cabin in the stern. The boat also has a fully enclosed bow compartment for luggage. The boat is due to be used along the Italian coast in spring 2025.
